Who Wants Dessert! Kids Toy Collection
February 2025
FYI Studio 2
Materials: Recycled Cotton, Combed Cotton Fill

For this project, I wanted to challenge myself to make soft toys for toddlers aged 4-8 years old to develop their fine motor skills without the use of plastic and harder materials like wood while still utilizing bright colors and tactile appeals of desserts and foods.
Concept: I took the assignment parameters and idea of PPI’s toy car and puzzle project to craft an actual toy solution for toddlers. I wanted to create a safer, sustainable alternative to plastic play, inspired by how satisfying soft, handmade craft work can be. I learned through the puzzle project in PP1, how satisfying it could be craft work that could be repeatedly played with, inspiring this project with a focus on the “soft” texture rather than the “hard” ones before.
